About the position

AI Sweden is a key partner of the OpenEuroLLM project that will build an open European family of Large Language Models (LLMs) to be published with underlying training sources in an open way.

In the role as a Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML you will be involved in the whole process of building LLMs, including making sure that they comply with regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for leading the knowledge transfer to our partners.

You will work in Sweden’s leading research group on LLMs, the Natural Language Understanding (NLU) group at AI Sweden. Our team is at the forefront of developing and training foundational models, and you will encounter a range of stimulating technical challenges and develop some of the most sought-after technical skills in the industry. You’ll be working in a highly stimulating environment where your creativity and power of initiative is not just welcomed, but essential. Experienced System Engineer: You are a skilled system engineer with a proven track record at the intersection of system development, CI/CD and data engineering. You possess deep expertise in designing, securing, and operating resilient infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Strong Programmer: You have excellent and proven programming skills in Python and preferably also C and C++.

Practical Deep Learner: You have previous experience working with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch. HPC experience is a plus.

Agile Technical Mentor: You are strategically skilled in evaluating and recommending open-source solutions while quickly mastering new machine learning trends. Furthermore, you are passionate about driving organizational growth by fostering a culture of continuous learning through dedicated mentorship and coaching.

Requirements

Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related fields. While advanced degrees are advantageous, they are not a necessity for candidates with substantial relevant experience.

Professional Experience: You have at least 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in an equivalent role, complemented by at least 2 years of hands-on experience developing machine learning solutions, particularly with LLMs. You have worked in the public sector and work experience in the defense sector is a plus.

Technical Expertise: Proficient in programming languages prevalent in AI, particularly Python, and familiar with frameworks like Pytorch and Tensorflow.

Swedish citizenship: In this position we are looking for applicants with Swedish citizenship.
