Head of AI Transformation
AI Sweden is now looking for a Head of AI Transformation that is a leading role and will work with our foundational parts of AI Adoption including our competence offerings.

AI Sweden is the national center for applied artificial intelligence, jointly funded by the Swedish government and our partners, both public and private. We are now looking for a new colleague to help take AI Sweden to the next level. AI adoption is the main focus for many organizations today, and this role will oversee two crucial domains: AI transformation and strategically building AI competence to guide organizations through their AI journeys. This is a key leadership position at AI Sweden, and you will be part of the leadership team within the AI Adoption unit.
For the role of Head of AI Transformation we look for an individual that can strategically help and catalyst the ecosystem and individual organizations to create sustainable value with AI and requires good understanding and experience of AI adoption practices.

About the position
As Head of AI Transformation, you will play a central role in shaping the AI Adoption unit’s strategic direction and capability to catalyst the Swedish AI ecosystem.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and developing the AI Transformation toolbox, including our competence portfolio and offerings.
- Providing personnel leadership for 10-15 team members from different parts of the AI Adoption unit.
Being Head of AI Transformation at AI Sweden includes being able to handle a diversified set of tasks, activities and skills such as;
- A focus on how AI can create value for a lasting impact, minimize hype and empty promises.
- Advice on AI strategy and transformation activities depending on AI maturity.
- Understand that successful AI Adoption is more about people and organization than technology.
- Gather best practices, project learnings and industry reports to further develop the toolbox for AI Transformation. This is the foundation for AI Adoption.
- Build and develop a competence portfolio of in-house and market solutions to cover all aspects of AI literacy that drives understanding and adoption of AI.
- Facilitate a Competence Strategy network for our partners to collaborate and share learnings and experiences.
- Take a holistic approach on problem solving which focuses on the big picture and not individual organizations or issues.
- Looking at how resources, learnings and good use cases can scale to the whole ecosystem for maximal sustainable value creation in Sweden.
- Communicate fluently and with confidence with leaders and decision makers.
- Facilitate workshops to help overcome challenges with adoption of AI in the ecosystem and organizations. AI Maturity Assessment is one example of such.
- Identify challenges and keep track of open applications to raise project funding
- Contribute to the overall development of AI Sweden.
- Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
What We’re Looking For
We believe you are an energetic and curious leader with exceptional skills in building relationships, strong social, communications and change management skills, as well as a commitment to making real difference.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A solid understanding of AI methods and their applications.
- Experience in competence strategy development, change management, or organizational development.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
We also look for someone who is:
- A generalist with a thirst for learning about new tools, platforms, and technologies.
- Dedicated and responsible, seeing tasks through from idea to completion.
- Detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
- Flexible and ready to take on tasks both large and small.
- A good listener with an open mind who thrives on collaboration and shared problem-solving.
Workwise, you have
- A minimum of 5 years of proven managerial experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in roles focused on competence building and development.
- Experience leading significant transformation programs in medium or large organizations.
- Either formal or informal team management and responsibility for personell.
- A high-level understanding of AI technologies and their practical applications.
- Capability to quickly understand different domains and organizations and their challenges.
- A structured way of working and enjoying building and maintaining good relations with different types of roles and organizations.
- A system level approach to finding synergies between initiatives and to maximizing values for large groups of stakeholders and organizations.
Location
This role is based in either Stockholm or Gothenburg, with regular travel within Sweden. You'll be part of AI Sweden's 100-person team distributed across many cities, including Gothenburg, Stockholm, Lund, Växjö and Luleå.
