Operations & Impact Director

We are now looking for a purpose driven and experienced Operations & Impact Director to join our management team and drive AI Sweden's next phase of organizational growth and ability to generate significant impact. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role combines operational excellence and impact measurement to accelerate AI adoption across Sweden and the use of AI for societal benefit.
For clarity, Impact for AI Sweden relates to how we, within our mission, contribute to a future Sweden that sustainably uses AI for solving key societal and business challenges, i.e. the impact (or effects) of our activities and work lead to.

About the position
As Operations & Impact Director, you will actively be shaping AI Sweden by developing our operations, ways of working, internal collaboration and communication, and in parallel develop our way of measuring impact, i.e. the value we generate to our partners and the society at large.
This role will lead operational development and execution by developing the team, optimizing internal processes, fostering collaboration and information flow, and enhancing financial reporting and planning, all while upholding our core mission and values. Additionally, this role will lead the implementation of data-driven workflows, advanced analytics, and AI to enhance decision-making and strategic foresight.
Furthermore, this role will be responsible for designing and implementing impact measurement frameworks, translating metrics and indicators into actionable insights, and leading the creation of compelling impact reports for both internal and external stakeholders. This role will also track and analyze the overall impact of AI Sweden's initiatives and projects. See our Impact report 2023 for an example of current work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and communicate efficient internal processes to facilitate information flow and improve program and project management and delivery across the organization.
- Lead and support internal efforts to improve organizational functioning, including coordination with the HR function, staff engagement efforts and implementing operational best practices.
- Manage and develop a large part of the AI Sweden team (approximately 10 direct reporting colleagues and many more in total).
- Develop and implement data-driven workflows, advanced analytics, and AI tools to enhance decision-making and strategic foresight.
- Translate mission and objectives on various levels into tangible and measurable goals and useful information for the leadership team.
- Lead and design efforts on data analyses and the tracking of results and impacts.
- Implement and adapt the impact reporting model, including the approach for dissemination of information with external stakeholders.
- And, ideally, depending on candidate, develop financial reporting and planning to support organizational decision making.
Required Qualifications
Education & experience
- Master’s degree in business, science or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in organizational development in relevant context.
- Experience from fast-paced environments and leading under uncertainty.
- Experience working with boards and senior leadership.
- Experience in financial reporting and planning.
- Ideally, understanding of public funding and associated regulation (e.g. “EU:s regler för statligt stöd”).
Leadership qualities
- Proven leadership skills and ability to generate concrete results.
- Demonstrated qualities of personnel management, team development and internal communication.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with proven ability to drive results.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong track record in building and leading diverse teams.
Technical skills
We expect you to have a general understanding of AI and experience from data-driven workflow implementation and analytics, as well as excellent skills in modern tools for text, presentation and communication (Zoom, Teams, etc) as well as strong interest in CRM, automation and AI augmentation.

We expect you to demonstrate a track record of successfully fulfilling your responsibilities and making significant contributions, achieved through collaboration with others.
Location
This role is based in either Stockholm or Gothenburg, with regular travel within Sweden and the Nordics. You'll be part of AI Sweden's 100-person team distributed across many cities, including Gothenburg, Stockholm, Linköping, Lund, and Luleå.
