Industrial Immersion Exchange Program
AI Sweden, Dakota State University and Chalmers University of Technology are looking for students interested in AI and cybersecurity to join the Industrial Immersion exchange program summer of 2025.
Artificial intelligence is transforming society. AI Sweden is the national center for applied artificial intelligence, jointly funded by the Swedish government and our partners, both public and private. Our mission is to accelerate the use of AI for the benefit of our society, our competitiveness, and for everyone living in Sweden.
We’re now inviting talented MSc or PhD students in Computer Science or related fields at Swedish universities to join the Industrial Immersion Exchange program, a collaboration between Dakota State University (DSU), AI Sweden, and Chalmers University of Technology.
About the program
This unique opportunity offers a fully covered summer internship spanning over ten weeks, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the dynamic realms of AI and cybersecurity. Participants will spend four weeks at AI Sweden's facilities in Gothenburg, followed by two weeks of travel, and four weeks at Dakota State University, delving into their renowned cyber labs in Madison. Students from Sweden and DSU will collaborate to establish a shared foundation that will support the future work. Additional information about the specific industrial projects will be provided to candidates who are accepted into the program.
AI Sweden and DSU will support the projects with faculty advisors, mentors, hardware and software tools, and a dedicated workspace, ensuring you have everything needed for success.
The program provides salary, academic credits, housing, and travel expenses to and from the U.S.

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for students currently pursuing an MSc or PhD in Computer Science or related fields at a Swedish university who are passionate about AI and cybersecurity. If you’re passionate about the potential of AI and cybersecurity to shape a safer world, this program is for you! You’ll collaborate with peers to create innovative solutions that lay the groundwork for future advancements. Please note that to participate in the US-based segment of this program, candidates must be eligible for the ESTA visa waiver program. If selected, you may be asked to confirm your nationality to facilitate necessary travel arrangements.
